About Amie

Amie Walter moved to Africa in 1996 with her husband, who spent his childhood there. During her four years in Kenya she was introduced to artists, collectors and enthusiasts of African art. Textiles became her passion and she built her own collection. Since returning home she has had trunk shows, opened a retail showroom through which textiles can be purchased, and sourced textiles for 20 branches of a major US bank. "Safari style"–experienced on trips around Africa in homes and lodges–has given Amie a vision of how to design environments that blend African and Western styles and create the rustic elegance she loved in Africa.
